As long as the voice chat vitriol is kept to a minimum (via prolific muting, in most cases), fighting like hell on a losing team is some of the most fun you can have in this game as long as your teammates aren't giving up and throwing. Only then can you demonstrate skill, as it takes far less to win with a winning team.

Elo-chasing is a bad goal. Having fun and doing your best is the real goal.

It's a "starcraft stance strategy" adopted since the early implementation of the concede option: when you know the game is over, just concede to try another win or a better challenging game. You have the same kind of behaviour in civilization VI multi; if a guy start at a defavorable position: leave.

It's a bunch of people who come together.
Oh yes. I've noticed it in other games as well, that the younger generation of people is restarting their lives more than fighting back.

You should never surrender with 2 hives. And this happens all the time.

To be fair no one wants to keep playing for 35 minutes when it's guaranteed loss no matter your skill level.
