The act of joining a server seems to not be perfect for me either

I just tried to "join as spec" on a server that was full (20/20) with 2/5 spectators

I was on precaching a bit over 30% and got votekicked, 2 minutes later it lets me join again and people told me i was afk in lobby....the ♥♥♥♥ i joined as spec and still on loading screen?

Wtf? Why is this happening?? This has happened so many times that I cannot play online without fear of it.

if you wanna seed a server, I recommend doing a mapchange (via votes) first, otherwise the server can be laggy if it has run for at least a day without a mapchange.

In general, on the ns2 discord you can still get more active help

Unless the game on a server is fully loaded (you joined) you cannot be kicked, because you're still "connecting.

On most servers you can queue as spectator by using F4, and you get automatically moved to readyroom once your turn is up. People get annoyed if you don't join quickly because the teams stay unbalanced until you join.


If you have actual technically difficulties you should use the ns2 discord because the steam forums are rarely been checked.
