Getting real sick of random Crash-To-Desktops (CTDs) while playing
For the past couple years or so, I have been suffering from random, sporadic crash-to-desktops while playing NS2 specifically.

My CPU/GPU temps are within normal levels while playing, most of my background apps are turned off (save for an open window in Steam Browser) and my anti-virus is on a timer that runs during non-gaming hours (AKA I'm sleeping or at work).

Is there something in this game that's causing these crashes? I can't possibly be the only one experiencing this. I don't remember having this issue from launch up until about 2 years ago...

Hi,

I assume crash to desktop means that you are crashing without our crash reporter showing up, right? Please have a look into windows's event viewer and see if there are any errors or warning related to ns2.exe. Or just check the most recent events after NS2 just crashed to desktop. That should help to figure out what is going on.

In the past ppl did run into these kind of issues due to faulty memory modules. So just to be sure that's not the problem I would recommend to run a test like memtest86 on your system
