Game won't start after update to build 328/329
Hi,

we upgraded to the VC++ 2017 run-time libraries with build 328 for windows OS. Steam should install those during the update but is known to fail to do so.

Hence if you can't start the game any longer after updating the game to build 328 please try these steps to resolve the issue:
  • Open Steam
  • Hover over Library and click at Tools
  • Install the Steamworks Common Redistributables if they are not allready installed
  • Right-click at Steamworks Common Redistributables -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
  • Open _CommonRedist -> vcredist -> 2017
  • Now run the vcredist_x64.exe

I tried that, but vcredist 2017 was already installed. I tried to reinstall it, but that didn't help either. Finally I navigated to the game directory and run ns2.exe binary directly. It was complaining about missing d3dcompiler_47.dll so I copied the file from other steam directory and now game works fine.

Funny thing all dis don`t work ...... maybe you should build a repair patch ......

Since the Community is also active in the official NS2 discord you could try to get faster help there.

Some of the Devs are also in the official NS2 Discord especially after a patch.

question im on the latest patch and just reinstalled ns2 and its just a black screen it shows the mouse not teh ns2 pointer is it pointer?
