I kept having issues while trying to load into a server. The game would just hang forever with the message "gathering data".

I was also having crashes, or the textures would freak out and go total potato, until I restarted.

Both problems seemed to be instantly fixed when I disabled the Steam Cloud.

There probably is a information error between the cloud and the game itself.
