Your game files do not match the server's
Your game files do not match the server's. Try verifying your game cache in steam.

-Tried restart
-Tried Verifying Cache
-2 other friend having the same issue
-removed all mods

any ideas?

Hello. There was an update with the mod ns2+ which is most likely causing this issue now.
The reason probably is because your version differs from the servers ns2+ version. When the map changes on the server it tries to download the newest version and that should solve your problem.

Edit: Out of curiosity: Did you subscribe to the mod ns2+ ?
