Having problems with my comp storage?
Basically, i seem to be getting lots of "temperary files" (166GB worth) when i go to look for them to delete them, i cant seem to find them anywere. The files didnt start showing up untill i started playing this game. Is this a common issue? any help is appreciated.

you should try searching for last files edited, this might help. Also make sure you have "show hidden files"

well, by this point i've already wiped my PC.. had some other people look at my PC as well couldn't find where these files were. i'm gonna take a wild guess and say that this doesn't happen to everyone, because if it did people wouldn't play the game. Which i guess is what i'm going to do. really sucks though, this is such a fun game. But if it literaly nukes my Pc i don't have much of a choice

A programm called "windirstats" is very useful finding all files and showing them graphically, including hidden locations. Usually temp files are located in the %appdata% folder.

I hope ur friends were totally new to IT

Hi,

NS2 stores temporary file on windows at two locations %appdata%/Natural Selection 2/cache and %temp% . However those should never amount to more than a total size of 5 GB.

You may also want to check the size NS2's mod folder at %appdata%/Natural Selection 2/Workshop as that can easily grow beyond 10 GB after joining a bunch of servers with various custom maps and game modes.

Otherwise I can also recommend windirstats (https://windirstat.net/) as it's a really nice tool to figure out what is taking all the space of your hard drive.

Additionally running windows's disk cleanup ultility (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026616/windows-10-disk-cleanup) may help as well.
