How to AUTO IMPORT? Without relying on the pirate cove.
I dislike the notion that you can only import certain amount of goods and you need to open that tab again and make another contract.

You will need to negotiate a new contract each time one runs out; however: look closely and you'll see the option to import very large amounts. Simply choose a much higher amount and it can take many years to finish the import contract.

That is why I am posting this. I do not like that.

This is a feature that feels like a step back from T5

It doesn't make any sense for import contracts to last forever, prices would change over time and a supplier would negotiate a new deal after a number of years

I've played 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for thousands of hours and I have several hundred hours in Tropico 6 in various beta versions.

I'm keenly aware of every detailed change between every version and quite frankly the ability to import unlimited amounts without a new trade deal every once in a while never made any sense.

There's a lot about T6 that I would like to see revised, and it's missing several features from previous games that I could comment on, this isn't one of them I'd change.

Automating trade is a basic feature present in every game where trade is important. It's present in games like Anno. There is no reason to annoy the player with tedious micro especially when you need to import 5 different types of goods. The OP is completely right.

+1 would appreciate industry auto fill, things like hides (which is literally worthless) I wouldn't mind having them self import even at +50% market price to make leather.

I agree that it's unrealistic for a trade deal to last forever, but it's also unrealistic to expect presidente to be the one taking time out to renew each one every few years... In the real world there would be a trade supremo looking after it all for presidente. So it's not realistic to demand the player has to keep micro managing in this way.

This is why previous tropico games made it unlimited, and why other games do the same. It's called 'set and forget' which is exactly what players want/need so that they can focus on the overall development of their nation.

In previous games I loved 'set and forget'. For me it was proof of building the perfect economy, when I could leave it running for hours unattended and nothing would spiral out of control.

This is one of those can not win either way debates.

On one hand it is nice to not have to renew trade deals.

On the other hand as your relations improve you get a better trade deal.

It's not really a no win. If relationships improve, even with never-ending trade as in the previous games, players had the choice to go back in and find a better deal. It was optional.

I personally used to aim to build a nation so stable and profitable that in the end it didn't matter what the price of coal was, I didn't need to worry. for much the same reason, once I had the best ways of making money in T5 figured out, I never used to use mines either - because it's a hassle when they run out.

I think a lot of people like to avoid micro-management in these games, it was a bit short-sighted to not allow that in T6 too. As I say, it is in the end optional in previous games, so the players really did have the best of both worlds before.

If you take the biggest amount on the import it lasts so many years to import the goods that it is almost like auto import
