Death by healthcare waay too often. (also nerfed buildings since T4)
Is it just me, or are citizens in Tropico 6 dying to healthcare waay much easier than in the previous two games (even at max budget with hybrid healthcare)? I never remembered this many people dying of bad healthcare before. Do I really need to start with 4 clinics with only 1-300 people and have one posted at work areas because the people can't be bothered to drive to work? After many hours, I've only just noticed this after I poked around the Almanac and saw the reason for the annual pop decline. I wouldn't complain too much if there was an indicator of people dying by bad healthcare on screen, like in T4, otherwise you can easily miss the deaths.

While I'm on the subject, I swear since T4 and even T5, the public service and police buildings were greatly nerfed and now I gotta have more of these buildings than I ever needed in 4 and 5. This game still has a long way to go before it can be compared to previous games.

Yeah, civic buildings across the board seemed to have been nerfed from previous Tropicos. A chapel once served 50 people at once, and that was in T5 when citizens didn't need to actually travel to the building, but now it only serves around 10 people. Also, the islands are smaller now but population growth is around the same. Add in how lazy Tropicans have become and it seems like I need to place service buildings on nearly every street corner or in every neighborhood.

Try getting the Hagia Sophia. I always use it and have never had the problem you describe.

It doesn't matter how many clinics and hospitals you spam around your country. At higher populations, you'll always have 20 people a year dying of "bad healthcare." I swear, this is to force players to get the Hagia Sophia, which itself just defeats the purpose of trying to adequately care for your own population

It's a stupid decision in an otherwise decent game, and I hate that the developers did this

This games original dev team were half mobile game developers, I think that perfectly explains the dumbest design decisions of this entry

That DOES explain a lot

Tropico4 and Tropico6 are different games.
They are different games, not upgraded versions.
It is not surprising that the specifications are very different.
Facilities removed, facilities added, changes, I think there are many.

On the other hand, "4 was better" is something that should be respected.
I think 6 is better in some ways and not in others.
I hope that the update and Tropico7 will improve it.

6 Has a lot of quality of life improvements that make it more enjoyable, but 4 also had more personality and easier to customize building layout and roads (though it was harder to make roads perpendicular)

I tried playing 4 again recently and my single biggest obstacle for getting back into it was the music. Holy crap, does that hour of music get repetitive. I never want to listen to it again. 6 has a much better soundtrack overall. Next Tropico should have five hours of music, with the ability to disable certain tracks, and more tracks from past entries. I noticed 6 has a few songs from 5 with the DLC

I made a thread about this and we got to the bottom of it. Frequent deaths are due to having too much pollution. Garbage dumps, as it turns out, are even more crucial to the health of your population

That may be the case. Kinda hard to tell since the Advisers for 6 NEVER tell you anything.
In Tropico 4, they can't wait to tell you how you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. In 6: crickets, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crickets. They are now glorified NPC quest givers, like it's an MMO or something. Jesus...what a mess...

Definitely, it feels way more grindy and repetitive than the last ones. I dislike how tedious it gets endgame.

What use is that kind of comments, seriously? If someone wants to comment on a thread, which is still relevant today btw, why flame such people? ... -_-
