new tropico game is good .
has anyone heard anything? it's been years since I've heard anything
would love it
And one that sticks with Tropico theme (dark but still fun), rather than the overly silly goofy stuff like eyepatch pirates on wooden ships in steamship era stealing global monuments and shipping them in with zeppelins.
(I really like the other stuff like in-game Twitter and the radio hosts and such, more ways to earn feedback from factions are always welcome)
Possibly with Cold War/Modern eras only, because that is where most of the features of the game are found.
Politics used to be the most important aspect of gameplay in some older Tropico games. They need to return to that and improve it further, instead of being focused entirely on buildings driving gameplay like they are now.
I don't see any difference between visual styles of T3/T4/T5/T6. They are even using the same old engine. I do think its way too clean and colourful in T6, feels like a weird game at times due to its absurdly colourful tone, but at least the building models are more realistic compared to T4 and T5 (which had a lot of out-of-place looking buildings).
I do hope they finally add day-night cycle as well.
Even better if they build a new engine for Tropico 7, because damn this engine feels so outdated.
No, they don't.
T1, T2, T3 and T4 all used the original engine from PopTop Software, expanding its ability each time under new developers.
T5 used a new custom built engine by Haemimont.
T6 uses Unreal Engine 4.
This series has had 3 game engines across 2 different publishers and 5 different development studios. (and T7 will be another developer, don't know if they are changing engines or staying with Unreal)
