Crop Conditions Change Constantly?
Never noticed that crop conditions change constantly. Not soil degradation. You plan to place a farm with perfect crop conditions, but you place it and the crop conditions have changed to crap before you get a chance to place it.

I don't understand the reason. Is there a game reason, or just something else to rng? Random crop conditions defeat the whole purpose, don't they? Why bother?

Plantations and Ranches cause soil degradation in the surrounding area on their default work modes, reducing the efficiency of all plantations and ranches in the affected area. This reduction is reflected in the crop and animal conditions overlays.

Either build manure spreaders around your plantations and ranches to counteract soil degredatioin, or change the work mode at your plantations to Multiculture and at your ranches to Pasture Prohibition. Note that you either need ranches on Pasture Prohibition or cattle ranches with the Manure Fertilizer upgrade to generate manure for manure spreaders.
Naw, constant crop conditions changing, all over the map. Same on islands I've never been to.

are u sure u have the same crop selected?
different crops have different conditions.
Nope. Not that either.

Just trying to find out if it is a bug, or if this is the intended behavior. A bug is a bug, but I'd rather hear an explanation from veteran players on why this exists.
Crop conditions constantly changing all over the map, including undeveloped areas, does not match anything that I have seen within the game. The closest things I can think of to that are a couple of disaster events that affect crop conditions, but to the best of my recollection those reduce crop conditions uniformly across the map by a fixed amount for the duration of the event, and you should get an event pop-up about something like a drought or a blight when those disasters trigger as well as another event pop-up when they end.

In all the years of the game's existence, not a single player has complained about anything like this.
Therefore, it is unlikely that veterans will be able to explain this as anything other than the fact that you are doing something wrong.
can you provide a video or screenshots(it may help identify the problem)

I've been playing for years and the latest sandbox game and I noticed this too. Plunked a plantation down at 100%, and when I looked at it a minute later it was at 25%. Never seen this happen before

Never seen that in like 300 hours of gamplay.
