it depends on the virus some are easier to eradicate then others and also edicts play a huge roll. i beat the dlc on hard difficulty but i cant even say to you just do A then B then its gone, theres sooo much factors that come into play whether a edict can work or not and the virus type itself plays a role to on what edicts work which ones dont. how strong your economy is can play a role theres no "simple solution" its all experience and trial and error.

if you REALLY want a virus gone, force vaccinations and have the mobile squads (i forget there name) go around do their thing vaccinating, close borders quarantine infected people if you have drones set them to eliminate known infected people etc. odds are this will tank your economy a bit but it will work in a shortish amount of time.

play the campaign for that DLC or you're not going to understand the virus mechanics. they are introduced more slowly by era in the DLC

tossing it into sandbox without knowing how it works is going to end badly and there's too many options to explain them all in forums when the game will teach you just by playing the campaign

In hind sight I should have closed the border. Also did not know you can use drone work mode to have the drones fly around and vaccinate infected tropicans. I think the virus dlc has really made sandbox challenging. I always played on hardest diff and really the game is pretty easy to make millions once you know how to work things.

You can't; the work mode in question causes the Drone Command to kill infected Tropicans.
