Tourism rating is 100 for all types and has been for years, perhaps even decades. I'm starting to suspect it might be some kind of bug or glitch. It's a pain because in order for me to complete this "Tropicoland" mission I need something called a TAO score of 165. It's my tourism rating plus the bonus I get from completing quests. My tourism rating can't go above 100 as far as I can determine, and it's impossible for me to advance the quest bonus either until I "have 50 or more tourists". Which by any measure I already do and then some but it refuses to be displayed as more than 15 out of 50 no matter what I do.

Just checked the bug forums now. It's a confirmed issue, tons of posts stating that the Tropicoland mission is impossible because of broken quests. Furthermore they date back six years, so not ideal for this serious a bug to have been left unaddressed after the passage of so much time.

I believe the TAO mission requires a certain type of tourist i.e. backpacker, thrillseeker etc. But it neglects to say that. Read the task and see if you can gather from that which type of tourist it wants you to have 50 of. I've just completed this mission so I am familiar with it.

Just to add to this...Make sure you have at least 2 cabana hotels and then have a range of the other places tourists can stay in.

I seem to remember someone saying something about children, so I'll give that a try. Even if it only neglected to mention it had to be a specific type of tourist, pretty serious oversight in my opinion. Thanks for the advice though and I'll give it a try.

If you had to build the aqua park for the task then it's children. If it was a roller coaster then it's thrill seekers and the casino is rich tourists.

Hmm? I had to build an aqua park AND a roller coaster though... Don't think I've had any requests for a casino but couldn't to make one of those as well I suppose.

I'd imagine you are looking for child tourists, build the normal hotel and after sometime that mission will complete.

Yup you were right, child tourists it was. I went and built anything and everything child-related and that did the trick. Unfortunately there aren't any more TAO increasing quests so I'm stuck :(

It's 50 rich tourists. You need a tourist dock or an airport for the rich (you need to learn it) and build a cruise boat or an hotel for rich people. I struggled with this one also...

How are your tourism ratings? If there isn't enough to do then they will leave the island and it will also impact more joining because their rating will be low. Make sure there's enough tourism and entertainment buildings to keep them on your island for longer.

Just to add on to this keep in mind tourists like beauty, you can check this with the beauty overlay and can increase it by building gardens and reducing pollution in the area with garbage processing.
