Tearing Issue in Tropico 6 with G-Sync and Triple Buffering (Ryzen 7 5800X, Nvidia 3070 Ti)
Hello everyone!

I’m experiencing a tearing issue in Tropico 6, even with G-Sync and triple buffering enabled or disabled, both from Nvidia settings and the in-game settings. The problem occurs intermittently, and I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same or has suggestions for a fix.

My hardware setup:

Processor: Ryzen 7 5800X
Graphics Card: Nvidia 3070 Ti
RAM: 32 GB
Monitors: 34" ultrawide and 24" (the issue occurs on both)
Operating System: Windows 10 and Linux Mint (the issue happens on both OS)

Additional details:

G-Sync and triple buffering enabled or disabled from both Nvidia settings and the game settings.
The tearing issue persists on both monitors, even when switching between them.
After experiencing the issue, I checked my performance using Afterburner and can provide screenshots to help identify the problem.
I have tested with the following Nvidia drivers: 566.36, 560.94, and 555.99, but the issue persists.

I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions or solutions. Thanks in advance!

Hello conejavier, that should not happen... please try first if activating vsync (sincronización vertical) in the game options solves the issue for you

You don't appear to have VSync turned on. Leave it application controlled with VSync on, you don't need triple buffering. Vsync will set your frame rate cap for you.

I've used Gsync with this game with no issues.

I’ve made some changes to the settings, and here are the results:

V-Sync: Enabled in the game settings but disabled in Nvidia settings.
Graphics and Resolution: Lowering the graphics settings to "Very Low" and reducing the resolution to 1080x1024 stabilizes the issue, but this is not an ideal solution given my hardware setup.

Let me know if anyone has further suggestions or has encountered a similar issue. Thanks!

Thank you for your suggestion!

I’ve already tried enabling V-Sync both in the game and through the Nvidia control panel, but unfortunately, the tearing issue still persists. I’ve also tested with G-Sync enabled and disabled, and the problem remains.

Any additional insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help!

Seems like the problem was the Christmas update (The snow on the trees particularly), all works fine now.
