anyone else only getting deadly virus now?
previously, even on the highest difficulty, i would still get harmless flu way more than anything else and almost never got deadly virus but now, outside of forced mission outbreaks, im only getting deadly virus.

im currently doing the nature mission but im in world war and the island has no oil and i cant keep enough population to import enough to stay ahead of consumption.

Yes, and it always seems to strike at the same time for me. Right when I am about to transition from colonial to world war, which is a tricky time for dealing with deadly viruses. I can't remember the last time I had a harmless one. And unless I get lucky and discover the cure on the first try my population takes a clobbering. If your not careful and scale back the economy you'll go into serious debt because you'll being paying for buildings that produce little or no revenue.

If you are playing sandbox, then the virus order is predetermined by your seed. Which is saved between playthroughs.

If you get a new seed then you get a new order.

Or just set all plagues to be Harmless in the settings.

good to know, but i was doing the missions not sandbox.
