Any thoughts or interest in fleshing out the Colonial Period?

Outside of story missions at the moment it feels like it is something to be rushed through as fast as possible, and doesn't give the feeling of developing Tropico as a colony to the point is it ready be its own nation, unless you deliberately put off the declaration.

Leaving the Tropico to feel empty as there is not need to build many of the buildings available such as Opera house and Circus in the colonial era itself, rather the development comes in the world wars and beyond.

Now I know staying in the colonial era is a players choice, and I don't think that choice should be restricted , just that the colonial era, be given a bit more to incentivise the player to grow and stay in that era longer than the bare minimum few Revolutionary missions as it is a fascinating one and where Tropico develops its self identify
