Ideas for new buildings and WW era date start.
1. Fusion reactor - the best source of energy for Tropico. Much more efficient than a nuclear power plant. It can produce 2000MW at standard wages. But it takes a lot of space and is very expensive to build.
2. Archeology - Ziggurat from T4, housing a huge number of residents in a building with good housing quality.
3. Skyscraper - like Archeology, but only for at least rich residents. In appearance based on Burj Khalifa.
4. Mega Block - like Archeology, but for the poor / bankrupt. Why live in a hut when we have a concrete block in which people are squeezed like canned sardines. At least it protects against bad weather, and there is access to water and electricity ... usually.
Appearance based on Mega Blocks from Judge Dredd.
5. Floating Apartment - re-entered the building from T5
6. Synthetic oil refinery - converts coal into oil, upgrade allows sugar to be converted into oil.
7. Fish processing vessel - catches fish when in the fishing deposit. It can move like other ships in T6. Can be upgrade to produce canned fish.
8. Mega Hotel - houses a huge number of tourists in the hotel. The appearance based on the Ryugyong hotel.
9. Helicopter landing pad - cheaper version of the aircraft carrier, UH-1 in the standard version. Can be improved in modern times with the Mi-24 assault helicopter
10. Mechanized garrison - reintroduced building from T5. During the Cold War OT-64 are used, in modern times BTR-4.
11. Shopping Center - contains a lot of entertainment such as a bar, cinema, restaurant. It can accommodate as many guests as a stadium and is half the size, but it consumes more energy.
12. Mega Hydroponic Plantation - can create 3 times as much as usual Hydroponic Plantation. Can plant three different crops at once.
13. Geothermal Plant - re-entered the building from T5
14. Ministry of Maritime Affairs - Tropico as island county should have such ministry. Based on efficiency, it lowers import prices and increases export prices. Can be upgraded with "modern trading ship" which increase ship speed and "Flag of convenience" which building generate small income based on relations with superpowers.
15. Soft Drink Factory - Tropico could create their own soft drinks like: Tropiconade, Tropi Cola...
16. Household Appliance Factory - coffee makers, toasters, microwave ovens best quality you can buy, until you plug them to electricity.


Just an a idea to start world wars era in 1910, no matter how much time the player stay in colonial times.

I agree. What about worker barracks? They're useful when you have faraway industry and they have good housing quality and satisfy needs such as food and healthcare, can also be upgraded to also satisy religion and entertainment needs. There should be a edict to improve all the qualities of the worker barracks.

Oh, yes, and laundromats can boost the housing quality of nearby homes and give tropicans a place to do their laundry.
