Dictators and COVID-19

It would be great if they incorporated pandemics like covid and how authoritarian leaders are taking advantage of it. Maybe edicts that affect liberty would be less harmful during pandemics, also any act of violence is more or less justified with the excuse of quarantine. You’d get away with more dictator stuff while taking a hit on happiness, health and economy. Also elections could be rightfully postponed during a pandemic. And if you want to go a little further, you could have an edict where the government intentionally causes a pandemic to gain this special privileges.

BONUS: bringing a light to a real issue in some developing countries :)

Bad Idea, its baisicly mocking REAL WORLD TRAGEDIES THAT ARE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW

Dictatorships and authoritarian governments are also world tragedies that cause hunger, poverty, malnutrition, corruption and DEATHS (directly and indirectly) all the time.. and thats what this game is about

Totally true, this world is not poneyland/disneyland, And tropico is far from grimmness and awful psychotic actions compare to the world;

No genocide, no mass organ removal on prisonners, no racism, no apparant torture... Hall with this music hard to be in the them and that totally fine

From what I can give to this idea :

Make Export/Import Way slower, no tourist can go in and out past the 1 month of epidemic
Citizen beyond Poor are less likely to go out except for taking food
Health Requirement to not die and for happiness increased
Side Mission: Once declared as pandemic crisis, Spend Research point to developp vaccin, use raid to steal insight on it or wait for immunity to build up. The illness (should be declared abroad), then the player would have the choice to prepare huge ammount of money to survive the crisis
Choice like every disaster to deal with it that will infuence how hard to fight it, lockdown, equip essencial workers and prepare illness tests, Protect everyone disinfect everything
Being allied with a superpower will help to reduce the difficulty of the event as this entity might give you the vaccin
Each pandemic event could have a different Research point, Health Requirement, Immunity time
