Report a translation problem
It's possible the game marked them as clones, idk. But it's not like there were any geo panels, with clone effects or otherwise. The battle started with all 8-10 of them there.
Thankfully after a few turns of stalling they left me after saying something about resisting arrest, but the game seems to not tell you crucial information sometimes like "oh hey, you can't combine enemies here" and many other things and it's pretty irritating because I could have potentially lost quite a bit of progress.
