Hmm, not much I can say here, you're at the right spot so... keep trying, I guess? Maybe try changing the camera angle/distance so it's easier to see where/when to jump off or trying to get used to the delay between the button press and before Adell jumps. Also, if you manage to see the stat info of the chest, you might not even need to land on the tree, just keep mashing the confirm button and you might get it as you're falling.

Level matters. Higher level Adell = Higher jumps IIRC.

While that is true, you only start to see a difference at lvs ~1000+, and considering town chests are pretty much never useful (except maybe the Testament if you grab all other chests), that's waaay to much trouble for what's worth. Not to mention, getting on top of that tree is completely doable even with Adell at lv1.

kinda offtopic, but i'm on my second playthru and i'm quite sure i've always talked to all npcs (minus shops and such) and got 3 chests each chapter both times, yet i cant seem to spawn the testament chest

did i miss some chest/dialogue or you have to do something specific to make it spawn?

I can't say for certain since I only bothered going for the Testament on my first playthrough, but AFAIK getting all chests in all chapters is the only requirement and I don't think your current cycle matters (?). Doesn't help that there seems to be little documentation about this for some reason. I know that after you get the last few chests in Chapter 13 you need to "reset" Holt Village's map for the Testament chest to appear (like going to a stage and clearing it), but you probably already attempted that, especially since this is your 2nd playthrough.

If I were to take a wager, I'd say you probably missed a chest somewhere somehow (maybe at the secret passages in the colloseum maps)? Then again, since you're aware there are 3 for each chapter, maybe not.

yeah i did some research before asking here and there isnt much documented about this chest

if the only requirements are getting all chests and resetting Holt Village i guess i probably missed a chest somewhere, i am quite the distracted gamer tbh
no big deal since i already have access to better gear, but thanks anyway
