Only exception is Adell if he's got a certain amount of felonies and/or ally kills you can't get the best ending anymore which only matters if you want that ending in particular. (and you can undo felonies if you want)
You should really send a tower of 9 characters in the felony room every time or as many as you can so they all get the felonies at the same time, cuts out on farming time and efforts.
Thanks for this, I wish I knew this earlier, i kept getting them one by one lol
Also, what is the felony limit for Adell before the best ending is locked out? I intend to get the best ending before I attempt any postgame stuff.
- there are 2 "types" for them:
> displayed felonies (the stamp that is placed on top of a character's portrait, which caps at 99, and you can get rid of them through a special kind of reincarnation). These affect shops buy/sell prices in your favor, increase your favor in the dark assembly, unlocks a couple bills for optional maps/bosses (which can be recruited later), enables the alternate/bad endings (though, as mentioned, there are also some other requirements for them) and lastly, arguably the only downside, is that any character(s) with these stamps become unable to damage the Dark Sun and ascending/sacrificing them will only raise the levels of the enemies on the map (these are optional mechanics from some postgame stuff and can be completely ignored if you want);
> hidden felonies, which you can only see at a character's status menu (labeled as "gross criminal records) and has the bonus exp and 300% cap that Tomberry mentioned. You can't get rid of these (not that you'd want to), unless you outright delete the character.
- to reiterate what Tomberry said, since farming felonies is slow and kind of a pain, make a tower of characters and throw as many as you can in the court room/gate.
- while not related to felonies themselves, it's probably worth mentioning that there are some crimes that you can only get once per character (these are mostly the ones related to Mastering X weapon type/magic) or, worse, once ever (the ones under the "Everyone's Crimes" list). Most of the rewards aren't really worth the trouble (you'll mostly get them for the felonies), but 1 item in particular is quite a hassle to get otherwise, so I advise to leave that one alone until you really need it. It's the M-Change Scroll from the "Magichanging self" crime.
10+ felonies, but you also need 50+ ally kills for the first bad ending, so don't worry about it and gather as many as you want.
Dont accidentally waste the Felony that grants the Gold Legendary MagiChange item though.
Also, Disgaea games in general are about grinding and reaching ridiculous numbers. For most stuff, not much grinding is actually needed, it's mostly there for players to always have a greater height to achieve. Not sure how you're playing, but try using less characters so the EXP doesn't get diluted as much. Alternatively, you can look for better ways to grind to reduce how much time you spend on it, though some people might not like the idea of using outside resources.
