Endgame Planning
Long time D2 player here. This is my 6th, maybe 8th(?) time replaying the game, and I've already spent hundreds of hours on this latest one. I'm at a point where I'm prepping my equipment for the final set of LoC bosses (iykyk). Personally I find that when it comes to item world assembly bills, adding MV instead of stat bills makes my item world runs progressively more efficient and faster to clear.

So the question I have is: can I just continue to level my equipment in a lazy fashion and focus on reincarnations instead for stat building? Will that be sufficient enough power to take on the final challenges in the game?

Well, I think there are some nuances in there. Like, while I don't think perfecting items are strictly necessary for anything in the game (even the very last superboss), they do help considerably. For MOV, I usually have at least one Accelerator with +3 MOV bills on everyone (except for my Item World Runners), though the rest of the equips are "normal" - as in, raised focused on offensive stats, at least for the most part - and that is enough for most stuff for me (it's about 10~15 MOV for most of my chars. For my IW runners is the cap, 31 MOV).

On the other hand, reincarnations and stored levels imho don't really contribute all that much to it, so I personally wouldn't focus on that. A "perfect" character with 186.000 stored levels, at lv 9999, without equipments, should have ~1.2M in their primary offensive stat and ~400k in their secondary. A lv 9999 character, with maxed Weapon Mastery, 25 lovers, and 4 fully perfected equips (though it differs a bit which ones, I'm using the Omniscient Rod, SRS, Makai Wars and Usagi's Journal), should have over 15M in their offensive stat (I'm only guesstimating, since the character I'm referencing is also "perfected". She's actually just short of 20M). So yeah, while reincarnating does help, I wouldn't go too crazy over it.

To put matters into perspective, a lv 9999 character with one perfected Super Robo Suit (and just that) is enough to solo Prinny Baal and its adds in LoC (you do need to heal and it might take a while, mind you). It's a bit hard to tell for Pringer X Unleashed x8 since it depends on your party composition (and the fact that I tested this half a decade ago doesn't help), but I believe a lv 9999 character with 2~3 perfected SRSs (about 6~9M, with only 120% aptitude in the relevant stat) and possibly with some cheesy strats, should be enough for the job.

With that said, if you're not too "lazy" while leveling your items, it might be feasible. I recommend at least a total of 7M in the offensive stat of your main attacker (preferably with a way to hit a 3x3 area) for the final final challenge. It's easier if you're using a magic caster, but it's still possible with units who use physical attacks. I helped a user a while back who used Laharl as their main offensive unit (though they had 4 3 perfected equips), you can check the overall strat I gave them here (spoilers(?) for those who care)
