[Linux] MASSIVE memory leak with Big Picture overlay
When Steam is in Big Picture, if the overlay is open or a notification is being displayed, Disgaea2SteamOS memory usage skyrockets to the tune of 200MB+ per second. Left unchecked, this eventually overwhelms kswapd and hangs the whole system. If cut short with a hard address space limit (i.e. ulimit -Hv), the game predictably crashes when it hits that limit.

On the flipside, the Steam Controller doesn't set up correctly when Steam is NOT in Big Picture, so this has no direct workaround other than avoiding using the overlay as much as possible...

Which breaks Steam Controller.

I'm just restarting the game after every map and not doing item world for now.

Maybe, but I'm seeing another crash that I can't pin down the cause of, so just not letting the game run too long in one go works better for me.

This does need a proper fix in an update.

Oh sure,

Core i7-4770
Intel H87 chipset
8GB DDR3-1600
Radeon RX 480 8GB
Primary monitor AOC G2460PF, secondary Samsung 2243BWX. No mirroring or anything, games run on just the primary.
Ubuntu-GNOME 16.04.1

Using Steam Controller wirelessly with included dongle.
