Phantom Inputs
When I launch the game, at first first everything is fine. Then I go to PC Settings to try to configure some basic settings, and it starts freaking out. First I go to resolution, and it just scrolls to the very bottom. I go back up to the top, and it scrolls back down. If I time it right I can catch the right resolution on its way down. But then it really starts freaking out, it's acting like I'm facerolling the keyboard, just rapid fire random inputs, window resizing at the speed of light.

Hey there dood, sorry to hear about this bug! This may be due to conflicting USB devices. You could try unplugging every USB device except your keyboard from your computer to see if that works. In the meantime, could I get your specs (including what kind of mouse and keyboard you have) to send to the devs?

Sure.

i5 4670k
16 BG DDR3
GTX 1080
2 1 TB SSD's in RAID 0
Old Razer Blackwidow keyboard, not backlit
Logitech G403 wireless mouse

Controller is a PS3 controller using SPC server to convert inputs to xbox 360 inputs, also tried a steam controller.

I'm actually not able to replicate the problem today, not sure what triggered it. I originally had the problem in big picture mode, but after switching steam into normal mode and relaunching the game I still had the problem. But not today.

I'm also having this issue.

Ubuntu Linux
Verbatim wireless mouse / keyboard
PS3 controller (usb)

Does the same thing with or without the controller. There aren't any other USB things to unplug.

So, this is a bug in the Linux kernel. There are a few things it incorrectly detects as joysticks. Most games seem to have some sanity checks to see if things are really joysticks.

Here is a workaround:

https://github.com/denilsonsa/udev-joystick-blacklist

You can use jstest / jstest-gtk and lsusb to find the vendor / product id for your device if it isn't covered by his rules (mine wasn't) and add them to the blacklist file. Once it's set up, disconnect your device, then reconnect it to apply the new rules.

It doesn't seem to only be tied with Linux because it also happens with Windows 10 as well.
For me, it usually kicks in whenever I try to move to my secondary monitor. After it screws up, I won't be able to play Disgaea 2 because it will continue to do it if I try to close and reopen the game.
I have to completely restart my computer to get Disgaea 2 usable again until I get stupid and try to open up Youtube or Facebook on my secondary monitor.
