Controller is a PS3 controller using SPC server to convert inputs to xbox 360 inputs, also tried a steam controller.

Does the same thing with or without the controller. There aren't any other USB things to unplug.

You can use jstest / jstest-gtk and lsusb to find the vendor / product id for your device if it isn't covered by his rules (mine wasn't) and add them to the blacklist file. Once it's set up, disconnect your device, then reconnect it to apply the new rules.

For me, it usually kicks in whenever I try to move to my secondary monitor. After it screws up, I won't be able to play Disgaea 2 because it will continue to do it if I try to close and reopen the game.
I have to completely restart my computer to get Disgaea 2 usable again until I get stupid and try to open up Youtube or Facebook on my secondary monitor.
