I'd like it to be usefully repeatable

what happened:
I was merging 3 Professionals on a Rare 7 Year Kill fist, a friendly 56; a friendly 38; and an unfriendly 7, and got an unfriendly 100 instead of 54.

I expect it's because the simple sum was greater than the max level but don't have another set like that to test. It didn't happen with other 3 way merges.

Also on the fist was an unfriendly coach (don't know intial level, after being tamed and taught it's 174) and a friendly 68 teacher.
