Turning on vsync with a 75hz monitor caps the fps at 56.

The issue might affect 60hz+ monitors too not just 75hz but I can't confirm that as I only have 75hz max on mine.

Anyways, I had my monitor on 75hz and played the game with vsync on ,since its on by default, and the game wouldnt go higher than 56fps. At first I thought it might be that my pc is just too old (Core 2 Quad q9300, 512mb radeon hd 4670, 5gb ddr2) but turning off vsync in 75hz mode raised the fps to 60. Changing the monitor to 60hz and having vsync on does not have the 56fps issue though.

That's how Vsync with triple buffering works... (loses a 1/4rd of the remaining FPS every time you drop below the previous limit(60,45,33.75,25.3125,etc.) or at 75Hz (75,56.25,42.1875,31.64.0625, etc.)

Set your monitor to a multiple of the game's cap (60 or 120 in this case) or this will happen for every game.
