Is the game broken?

Did an item world, now I'm stuck in the village, can't use an exit to escape, can't physically get to the ghost to exit. WTF?

Have you tried jumping?

Thanks. I just started playing, I didn't even know jumping was a thing.

It happens to a lot of players, including me. You couldn't jump in Disgaea 1 after all. There is a place in the hub near the mothman where you can get stuck and need to jump to get out of, it's usually there that people either discover they can jump or think they got softlocked.
