Working on patching with a Mod
Hi everyone:
If you have something you know if broken, please post it here. I'll be working on a mod to try and fix some of the clearly broken things and implement some needed fixes.

Ok. Started working on this by first compiling all the previous mods I've made into one mod. Haven't finished it yet, but here is the change log so far.

  • Ability - Fixed Tinker Master Enchanter ability. It gave Level 7 & 8 for Chaos and Enchantment. Adds level 7 for Summoning and Wrath (which were missing). Now the ability gives level 7&8 for all spell categories (Chaos, Enchantment, Summoning, and Wrath).
  • Ability - Priestess: Added Plate Boots, Plate Helm, and Plate Chestplate (only sovereign without even chainmail armor in the forging skill).
  • Ability - Priestess: Renamed Clairvoyance III to Clairvoyance II (since that is what it should be).
  • Ability - Priestess: Renamed Clairvoyance IV to Clairvoyance III (since that is what it should be).
  • Ability - Tyrant: Replaced Ring of the Vanguard with Crimson Ring (forging ability).
  • Unit - Abeix gained the Large ability, the Overpower ability, and the Sweep ability.
  • Unit - Corpse Wyrms gained the Large ability, the Overpower ability, and the Sweep ability.
  • Unit - Dire Wolf loses vulnerability to cold.
  • Unit - Dwarven Axemen gain the Cleave ability and the Expert Axemen ability. They lose the Eviscerate ability.
  • Unit - Dwarven Berserker gained the Berzerk ability.
  • Unit - Dwarven Cavalry gain the ability to equip bows, the Armor Piercing ability, and the Poison Shot ability. They lose the Slow ability and the Shockwave ability.
  • Unit - Enslaved Wargs are now properly considered beasts.
  • Unit - Fire Mages lose the Soulspark and Thunderstrike ability and they are replaced by Flamewave and Burst of Fire to make them more fire themed.
  • Unit - Frost Dragons gained the Large ability, the Overpower ability, and the Sweep ability.
  • Unit - Frost Mages gain the Ice Storm ability.
  • Unit - Golden Dragons gained the Large ability.
  • Unit - Ice Mages lose the Energizing Aura and it is replaced with the Frostborn ability.
  • Unit - Nabunihr gained the Large ability, the Overpower ability, and the Sweep ability.
  • Unit - Necromancers gain the Spell Curse, Spell Touch of Entropy, and Spell Deathward abilities.
  • Unit - Quendar Mystics gain the Spell Curse ability.
  • Unit - Quendar Mystics get the Quendar Blood ability.
  • Unit - Rabid Dire Wolf loses vulnerability to cold.
  • Unit - Rebel Archers gain the Armor Piercing ability.
  • Unit - Renegade Dwarven Mages get the Bewilder ability.
  • Unit - Shrill loses the Spell Static Blast and it is replaced with the Shockwave ability. This keeps more in line with their earth theme.
  • Unit - Spectre now have the Vulnerable Undead ability.
  • Unit - Trog gain the Blood_Trog ability (only the infantry get it, not archers, snipers, or commanders.)
  • Unit - Trog Snipers gain the Bleed 2 ability instead of Bleed 1.
  • Unit - Twisted Magi gain the Minor Resist Lightning ability.
  • Unit - Twisted Magi lose Vulnerability to Lightning. They use lightning for their abilities.
  • Unit - Twisted Magi replaced the Blessing ability with the Spell Static Blast.
  • Unit - Warlock loses Energizing Aura ability and it is replaced with Spell Curse.
  • Unit - Wolf loses vulnerability to cold.
  • Unit - Wolf Pack loses vulnerability to cold.
  • Unit - Wraiths replaced the Arcane Veil ability with Wraiths Blood ability.
  • Unit - Yeti Commanders now get the Battle Ferver ability like their description says.
  • Weapon - Reduce penalty for Hellfire Staff from -6 to -2 for combat speed. Made it comparable to Hailstone Staff (same staff, just one is fire and the other is cold).
  • Weapon - Reduced damage for Leht staff from 9 to 8 to make comparable to it's counterparts the Hailstone Staff and Hellfire Staff (both of which do 8 in their elemental damages).

    I'm going to be going through some of the other issues reported and see if they can be easily fixed.

Ok, so here is the first version of the mod released which should fix a number of issues and patch a lot of units.

Directions:
  • Download the file and unzip to C:\Users\{Username}\Documents\My Games\SorcererKing\Mods\Data
  • Make sure you have the option for using mods turned on in the game.
  • Enjoy the updates.

Doesn't seem to be working when following the instructions.

I quickly double-checked and the first wolves I encountered were still vunerable to cold.

Are you putting the files in the correct folder?
Do you have the option for Mods turned on?

Yes. Slapped it all in the mods folder and turned the option on.

Hopefully I'll try giving this a shot sometime soon. Currently have my head buried in a couple other games, but I really do like this game and you have made some great changes/fixes!

I know. I liked the idea of this game and the series, but the implementation of this needed a lot of work. Glad you liked the mods. I might do some more work on this soon, but this should address some of the major things. I might do some more work on the Healer sovereign because that one is soooo messed up.

I hope this is the beginning of finaly fixing things up into this great game. We greatly appreciate your effort and i hope a dev will see this thread and assist you even further. Looking forward for more updates!

About them seeing this thread and helping - they won't. I offered while they were still turning out updates to help and work on stuff and all they did was pull stuff out of the mods I made and used them to update the game - which was fine but no credit. :( Also, they never released any of the information on Modding they said they would. But, I'm working on some more stuff, so that'll be coming soon.

@Gestalt: The patch out I have put out right now fixes some of the most glaring problems. Future patches will be enhancements (likely starting with Healer which is a goofy Sovereign) and patching other bugs as reported.

Well, someone kept asking about it since they saw I did work previously and asked me to fix the game so it was playable as the Tyrant. Now it's looking to evolve past that.

Great work, El Bandito. I think it would make sense to flesh out some of the other champions who don't seem to be able to equip any weapon until enchanted. That whole thing is a bit off.
