Check the error.log file in the game dir, is there anything?

how do i get to the error log file exactly?

i know it is a file but there is so many idk what one it is

In steam library right click on the game > manage > browse local files, the file is named error.log

In case you are using the bad default windows setting that hides file extensions, eneable them:

If the file isn't there, then the game has not created it, and that is bad for troubleshooting.

Anyways, here some more questions:
Did the game work before? What are your computer specs? Is it a laptop?

not a laptop it is a gaming computer and yes the game worked just fine before.

So when did it work last time? Did you install some mods before it stopped working?

i have had that problem many times it is usually caused by two things either your options files are corrupt or you have installed a mod that crashes the game what i usually do is delete the last mods you have installed and slowly add them back in launching the game after each one, or install the game on a separate drive or library and duplicate the options file as keeping an duplicate options file is handy as it fixes many bugs and glitches with graphics and random crashes

Hey something that i do i go to the local game files and delete the settings folder. By doing so should allow you to start up and adjust the settings from there. PM me if further info or clarification is needed

Alright so here is how to boot the game if it black screens before starting:
Go to steam and click the properties of SLRR
>click the save folder
>click the game folder and enter it
>Delete all of the items withing which should be:
-1366 options
-backup
-and options

Do this and restart SLRR. You should make it to the main menu where you can adjust the settings accordingly for your PC.

I've seen such problem once. It was due to steam cloud syncing old save files back to the game. This could happen if you haven't played the game a few years. Check here
