Hey,

Somewhere around February, I plan to do player customization update, so you'll be able to have female player models. Cute or not depends on individual standards xP

Will cosmetics be around then by chance or is that still up in the air?

If by cosmetics you mean inventory items that can be equipped by your character, then yes. It's going to be part of that update.
