Career stuck at "strafe right" tutorial screen

Basically, when first flying the career track a screen pops up saying "strafe right"...
And I press the stick, and even keyboard buttons, I try everything I can think of, to strafe right.
And I"m just stuck on that screen. Any solutions to move on with the career?

So I was having this issue, for me the issue was that I didn't understand strafing is different to steering in this game.
You steer using the left joystick, and strafe with the right joy stick (or you use wasd plus arrow keys if on keyboard I guess).
So for me the solution to this issue was to hit left/right with the right joystick to strafe in that direction.
