Do you have the "ipsum lorem etc.." bug?

If yes I have the exact same problem which traduces itself by the same as you say: nothing works. But in my case I bought the game a few years ago and all worked fine by the time.

I used to play in campaign mode and I had the time to finish a few scenarii. Our problem here is recent, I tried to reinstall but nothing changed.

I just can confirm that this game can and should works normally but it doesn't since a very little time and I can't understand why.

My first suggestion would be to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game to make sure that you have the most recent version. Are you unable to select anything from when you first open the game? For example, does the mouse have no effect on any of the buttons or screens at all?

I have the same issue on my desktop system. I can click around different things in the menus, etc, but there's no missions, and none of the changes I make in Options stick from one running of the game to the next. I get the feeling maybe the game is somehow unable to access the file system?

On my laptop the game works, but the AI hangs the game with frustrating frequency. It usually happens during the AI's fire phase. I can still move around the map, access options, etc, but the game is just stuck on "Waiting on opponent".

I'm honestly surprised that a modern game, after 4 years of further development, gives this unfinished and buggy an impression.

Well, I hope the devs of this game can see my posted picture as of today; I cannot believe this is still happening.

I'm also seeing the game getting stuck on "Waiting On Opponent" frequently. It's virtually unplayable.

same error, system 7, 1st campaign and also combining infantry tutorial, waiting on opponent, 1st campaign turn 5 ogre fire phase. most buttons operate, i.e. victory conditions, game speed, cant save tho. very first game, crashes. hope this is not normal for a couple year old game.

Perhaps we should petition SJG to find a different developer? They clearly haven't delivered a functioning product, despite having had 4 years to iron out any wrinkles. It's not hard to get the impression the whole thing needs to be reworked from square 1.

Before you do this, it would be a good idea to try reinstalling the game through Steam, just to make sure that you have the most recent version of the game :)
