Linux support please please please!
Hi, yesterday (as of Feb 22nd 2017) Valve officially released SteamVR for linux. You can check out the bug tracker here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamVR-for-Linux
I'd really appreciate it if the dev(s) made a linux build of Climbey.
The instructions for building OpenVR linux on Unity are:
Linux OpenVR development requires version 5.6 of Unity. This can be downloaded from https://unity3d.com/unity/beta. Only the Vulkan renderer is currently supported on Linux. To select the Vulkan renderer, go to Edit->Project Settings->Player. Uncheck "Auto Graphics API for Linux" and add "Vulkan (Experimental)" to the Graphics APIs for Linux option.

If you are using the Unity SteamVR plugin, download the latest plugin from the Unity Asset Store at https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/32647. Older versions of the plugin do not support Linux.

There is a known issue with the Lab Renderer adaptive quality and Unity 5.6. If your project is using the SteamVR Lab Renderer, disable adaptive quality. (select your camera, and uncheck "Adaptive Quality Enabled" on the Valve Camera script pane)

It would be absolutely awesome if I could play Climbey without having to shut down all my work and boot into windows. I'd be willing to test it. I've really been enjoying Climbey and I could waste so much more time playing it if it was available on Linux.

I'm waiting for 5.6 to get out of beta before doing this, don't trust beta builds enough to not break everything.
I'll get on it after that though!

Unity 5.6 has been released today. It would be fantastic if you would find some time to try it out with Climbey and the Vulkan renderer :D

Hey @ShadowBrain, what's the status on porting Climbey to Unity 5.6 and releasing a Linux release?

Am working on getting 5.6 up and running first, a few things broke I'm still waiting on fixes for.

Has there been any progress that you can tell us about on the switch to Unity 5.6 and the following Linux port?

A friend bought me the game in excitement after learning of your intentions. I share his enthusiasm! Climby has unique VR features that I am ardent to experience.

All of the linux stuff is still very experimental, I do plan on looking into it further but it's not very high priority because of there being like 10 people at most that have Linux computers that are VR capable...

You are going to get a lot of +1 on this thread. ;)

Hey, @ShadowBrain Unity has released a bunch of bug fix releases, do you think you could try out an experimental build of Climbey for us linux users?

I'd also be interested in giving feedback on an experimental build.
