Hi all, did you know there's a 'speedrun mode' within Climbey?

A few of us regular Climbey players have already set official times, which you can see here: https://www.speedrun.com/Climbey#Classic_Levels_1-15

The rules are simple. Complete the Classic level 1-15 (they're the tutorial levels) as quickly as you can and in one straight session. No forfeit and retries - if you die the timer still carries on!

If you would like to take up the challenge it's quite simple.

Firstly, you'll have to add -speedrunmode to the Climbey launch options. To do this, right-click on Climbey within Steam and go to 'Properties', then click 'Set launch options'. You can then type -speedrunmode and click 'OK'.

Start Climbey and within your starting area click the big 'Clear Progress' button - this resets your tutorial progress so that you can start from level 1 again.

Next, press the in-game menu button and then 'Start'. As soon as the first level loads in, your speedrun timer is started. Fortunately, ShadowBrain has used his developer magic to integrate the split timings into the Climbey game window so you'll be able to keep track of your times!

Give it a try, see if you can make it onto the top 10 speedrun leaderboard.
