Huummm. That's.... doable but will take a while to do.
I get sick using the VR Level editor and it has no undo/redo, which is unacceptable for me as a user. Also you can create levels with Blender while watching a TV Series :) But sometimes I "need" to edit in VR to get a feel for size and space.
I tried to improve the 2D Level Editor from GitHub but it is a lot of work, what you would need is already there in Blender.
Can I support you somehow? I only know C#, no idea about Python (only basics) or Blender.
