Jumping has stopped working properly
I put in about 8 hours, controls were intuitive, worked fine, and I was getting pretty decent at them if I do say so myself, but over the last two of playtime, I literally cannot jump. I thought I might be psyching myself out, went to sleep, picked it up a couple days later, and I'm still having issues.

Playing on vive, is it my wands that have stopped tracking motion properly or something? I don't have any issues in other games, but now when jumping one of three things happens: I don't leave the ground, I jump about a foot and a half, or I absolutely fly forward. No control whatsoever.

Fairly certain it's not user error, so is it a bug or my controllers, anyone had this happen?

It could be performance related?
Next time you try this, try lowering your supersampling and seeing if that makes a difference.

I know what you mean though, and I will keep an eye out for anything weird.

Changed supersampling, performance doesn't seem to be the issue

I've started way slowing down my motions, and that cuts down on the issue, but I'm not getting near as far as I was before, really increasing how much I have to jump in general. Idk, it might just be me. I'll put it down for a little while and come back, see if the issue has gone away, or if I can better work it out after I've cleared my head.

Are you sure this is a SteamVR beta issue?

I've been trying to get Climbey ready for when the SteamVR beta becomes the main branch, if you have any reason to think it's the beta, please let me know.

I'm just guessing, Most people have Throwing issues on SteamVR beta so I'm just assuming its the Beta

Hmm no, the throwing issue was related to the controller velocity not being reported correctly, which was fixed about 2 days ago and didn't affect Climbey beyond snowball throwing due to the way the climbing and jumping purely uses controller tracking position.

I'll have to investigate more to be sure though, a lot of input stuff changed which might affect trigger release timing until I can get everything moved over to the new input mapping system...

I don't tthhhink I am? Is that something you have to opt-in on? Haven't done anything like that, if that's just the regular like, home menu you get with steam, no clue how not to use it.

I was on a bit earlier and it ssseeemed to be better. Still slightly present, but better. It might be a controller thing at that. I know the vive controllers are notorious for messing up in any way they possibly can, could have just been something that turning them off and letting them sit for a while fixed/helped, I don't even know.

Can for sure be a controller thing, my vive wands have seen better days, triggers becoming unresponsive and such...

Control is incomprehensible, how to jump?
