movement seems broken with touch controllers
moving using the grip and a direction, works really strangely, only goes forward, and doesn't map to the direction i point. if i switch to joystick movement it works fine, but then i can't jump anymore.

using steam beta client and oculus rift / touch controllers

UPDATE:

it was just my own confusion with the controls in the end. jumping still seems strange and unpredictable, but is otherwise working too.

I recommend you hang out in multiplayer some time and see what other people are doing! :)

hi, thanks for the fast reply. i tried some things, including switching out of the steamvr beta. but i think it was just confustion about the control options in the end.

turning *off* the 'controller directed walking' made it behave as i had been expecting. thanks

the jumping was also just confusion with the controls (running vs jumping, as you suggested), i can activate it sucessfully now.

just wanted to add feedback that the jumping seems super weird and unpredictable. usually i can barely jump half a meter, then it hits some kind of hard ceiling, and throws me straight down. sometimes i can get a higher, smoother, more physics-based arc. but it's very unreliable.

starting with the triggers already depressed is helping to improve the timing, but it still seems like it's not controlling as intended, since i'm failing very often even in the tutorial levels, just to make simple small jumps.

thanks again. i have a fear of heights, and this game is already terrifying, so good job :)

Glad you're enjoying it haha.

yeah jumping can take a bit of time to learn, it's not very easy and being on Touch makes it a little harder still because of the way the tracking becomes a little glitchy if you move your controllers fast, but I've seen enough good Oculus players online to know you can totally get used to it.

Good luck, and have fun! :)
