Do note that you have to stay on the input beta branch after you've selected it once, because it makes a reference to an actions json file in the steamvr.vrsettings file in your steam install/config folder.
You can technically delete that reference, but the new input system is going to be in the main branch soon as the Halloween update is dropping tomorrow.
Hey, I'm in the steamVR beta and still experience the same issue. Is there anything else that can be done?
- reinstalling the game, loading it on main branch and then retrying on beta branch
- reinstalling game and just trying main branch
- reinstalling game and just trying beta branch
all while still on the SteamVR beta.
The game isn't crashing so much as just not allowing me to view or control it in my HMD, and I'm starting to feel like this problem might be more of Oculus's falt seeing as their entire home menu system is very poorly made...
So it's basically a mixture of Valve and Oculus' fault, as well as weird things specific to your setup and settings, which sucks because it's hard for me as a developer to make sure it works for everyone given all the different variables :/
I hope you can get it working soon, but I have no more advice to give sadly...
Not really motivated to try the beta etc., so I'll just wait until this gets sorted out.
Are you folks launching it through Oculus' Home menu instead of running SteamVR separately, then starting the game through your desktop or even the SteamVR overlay?
Because I've heard that might be a problem.
Try running SteamVR separately, then starting the game through your desktop or the SteamVR overlay?
On Windows find a program on your computer called "regedit" you'll be able to find it with the search on win10.
This opens up a window with a toooon of folders, Climbey is under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ShadowBrain Games", you can safely delete the "ShadowBrain Games" folder and that'd reset all the data in the game and re-create the folder once you start the game again.
