Even though I waited to be told to close it and then did as such... I ended up just dorking around in the demo space myself with the robot off but I think I might have missed something as I feel like I don't really understand how to "walk around". I just like "thrust" myself forward by barely any distance. Still, loved the demo and gonna buy the full game just curious if I made a mistake in the tutorial.
