Use the grab button on Oculus Touch
Any chance of this being putting in? The grab button on the Touch is more intuitive for some of the actions in the game.

Yes, I want to play with a friend that uses Touch. What button would be good for RIP walking?

Trust me, you don't want to use the grip button for climbing/jumping.

I almost threw my controllers on the ground every time I tried jumping with grip, it gets super uncomfortable after a while.

@piko The game works fine with Touch through SteamVR, I think he was requesting to use the grip instead of the trigger for climbing. :)

@ShadowBrain So you tried with Touch? Keep in mind that Touch's grip buttons are *much* softer and analog, kind of like Vive's triggers.

Can we get an experimental option for swapping grip and trigger? At least with a command line option or something.

edit: Did play with a friend with Touch. However I suspect it would be more comfortable with those huge soft squeezable grips. Also the controller has less mass, therefore less inertia. He will try with wrist straps, of course.

Trust me dude, I played with it, I have Touch, using grip is *not* more comfortable in this context, the grip buttons are nicer yes but they're also bigger and a large part of the controller, it's much easier to drop the controller without them held in and you will end up throwing them on the floor.

If I remember to I'll see if I can add an option to switch it but I doubt it'll be used much after people try it.

I see. If you have Touch then I trust your judgement. I would like to try with a hidden option, though, if it's not difficult.

have you tried making the grip a hair trigger? that might work

I don't know if the option's been added since this post (I'll probably delete this if I go in and see it's been added), but Rec Room at least works fine using grip buttons to climb and throw yourself. In fact, I have to throw myself harder in there and still run into little to no issues besides tiring myself out (I'm skinny and out of shape, it's my fault there). I really think it'd be a good idea to at least have the option.

I know this part's my fault, but the trigger on my right touch controller is a bit messed up to the point where it might not let go when I need it to to climb. The grip is working fine though (like I said, in Rec Room), so it would greatly help to have this option.

This is a really old thread, since then SteamVR has gotten its own input binding system, so you can set grab to whatever you want in SteamVR's overlay settings, under "controller settings".

Alternately visit http://127.0.0.1:8998/dashboard/controllerbinding.html while SteamVR is active. :)

Thank you very much. It was so annoying knowing the cool maps I have downloaded for climbey I couldn't climb again because of this damn funked up trigger. Now I will gladly exercise that ability. You're very kind.
