Can't hit any buttons on menu

When I hit buttons they vibrate and push in heaps but don't do anything. I can press checkpoint and the settings but not main menu or forfeit or basically anything useful. Trying to play with a friend and he's stuck too

The "useful" buttons should be long-press, so they vibrate, then after 2-3 seconds they'll activate.

If they don't I apologize, something must be wrong and I will look into it, but make sure you're not just being impatient and let me know! :)
