Master Fixes Thread for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr
I'll be compiling this thread to help users correlate various troubleshooting tips to assist them in getting the game running

Game Will Not Start/Getting D3DCOMPILER_47.dll Error

DO NOT RENAME DLLS FILES

This is not supported by Microsoft and WILL result in all sorts of unexplainable problems.

If you're running Windows 7 and are getting this error. Install this patch from Microsoft.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4019990/update-for-the-d3dcompiler-47-dll-component-on-windows

REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER. YOU MUST DO THIS

Then install Dot Net 4.7

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55167

REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER. YOU MUST DO THIS

Also to install the above you must be on Windows 7 SP1. You MUST install SP1.

Platform Error - Game Requires 64-bit OS

If you receive a Platform Error it means your OS is not 64-bit. As the game requires a 64-bit OS you cannot run the game. You would need to reinstall your OS to the 64-bit versioin

Windows N Users Require Windows Media Player Addon

The game requires some media codecs that are not included by default in Windows N. Please install this update from Microsoft by going to

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4016817/media-feature-pack-for-n-edition-of-windows-10-version-1703-april-2017

Make sure you reboot your computer after installing this update

Game REQUIRES DX11

As per the system requirements, the game requires DX11 to run. Your video card must be an

AMD HD5000
Nvidia GTX400

or higher to be DX11 compliant. If you do not have a DX11 compliant card the game will not run

Wait DXDiag Says I Have DX11/DX12!!

Many people don't seem to know if their video card supports DX11. In order to check this do the following
  • Click Start->Run
  • Type in "Dxdiag"
  • Press Enter
See the DirectX version here?

THIS IS A LIE

This only shows what the OPERATING SYSTEM supports. Not what your VIDEO CARD supports.

To check what your video card supports
  • Click the Display tab
  • Look in the upper right
  • For Windows 7 look for "DDI Version"
  • For Windows 8/10 look for "Feature Levels"
If you DO NOT see "11" in the "DDI Version or "Feature Levels" line, your video card DOES NOT support DX11

This CANNOT be solved by installing DirectX.

It is a HARDWARE problem with your video card.

Perform FULL Windows Update

The game requires you to be on the latest Windows update for your OS

MUST Be on Windows 7 SP1

If you do not have SP1 installed for Windows 7 the game will not work. Install SP1.

Update Your Video Card Drivers

It is also important that you update your drivers through software provided by your video card manufacturer or directly from their site. Using Windows or updating software provided by your laptop manufacturer to find more recently drivers is less reliable, as they will likely only have drivers that initially shipped with the product, or will be out of date with the actual video card manufacturer.

Always make sure you reboot your machine after installing the drivers, just to be safe. Then try relaunching the game.

Laptop users should force their Nvidia/AMD cards

Use the Nvidia Control Panel or AMD CCC to force the game to use your built in GPU instead of the Intel one

This guide should help you depending on your video card:

http://www.howtogeek.com/175281/how-to-force-graphics-options-in-pc-games-with-nvidia-amd-or-intel-graphics/

Verify Game Files

Sometimes files can be corrupted and may require to be reinstalled

* Right click on game in steam library
* Click "Properties"
* Click "Local Files" tab
* Click "Verify Integrity of Game files..."

Xenos Have Corrupted The Game! What Should I Do Inquisitor!

In order to assist the developers with issues its important to provide as much information as possible. Please when submitting bugs/tickets try to describe in as much detail what happened. If possible please spell out steps to replicate a particular problem. If you can provide screenshots that's also helpful as well

If you have technical problems, also include your system specifications. This can be found by going into the Steam client and clicking on Help->System Information. Then copy/paste whats in the window as it has some good basic information about you computer that can be useful.

All Glory To The Emperor!

Step1: uninstall the game and delete its folder in the Steam folder
Step2: delete the game's folder from your Documents library
Step3: press Win+R, type regedit and delete the game's reg keys at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NeoCore Games\Warhammer Martyr\
Step4: install the game again and check if you can log in.

Game worked fine until today. Now I get black screen only.
Cannot create character!!!
I'm trying to create my first character but I cannot!! The system says: You have reached the maximun number of characters, you must delete one of them to continue...

Anybody has the same problem?

Please help.

Additionally I'm experiencing the actual issues to connect to the servers (I assume that this is "normal") please increase your capacity.

Thank you!!

Resolved. Thank you.

Try restarting steam. If you're having connectivity issues thats likely related

Unfortunately none of this solves the inability to connect to the server because of this: websocket error: X509 - Certificate verification failed, e.g. CRL, CA or signature check failed

Looks like this error has been around since at least march:

The game seems to be crashing whenever i try to start a story mission, I've verified my files and reinstalled the game but I am still having the same issue. Is there something else i should try?

Why the hell was there an Early Access ?!
They did NOTHING !!!
All the problems from EA are still here and more !!
They did NOTHING !!!
I cant play in CO-OP, 35 ping yet rubber banding 80% of the time.
Can't move, completed missions do not register. I lose everything from missions, including my time.
I don't see any fixes for that in this thread.....and there wont be any.
I feel cheated when I get these problems in Early Access, but the excuse is that it is an Early Access.
What is the excuse now?!
It is STILL an Early Access ffs witch means that the devs only wanted to realease this game to make some more fast money.
They added content but they did not fix one problem from Early Access.
Shame on you NeocoreGames..SHAME ON YOU !!!

wtf. i had the file D3DCOMPILER_46.dll in my game file renamed it to D3DCOMPILER_47.dll and now i can play. so it looks like its game designers fault.

The game kept quietly crashing on launch for me, but after renaming that file as you did, it's starting up just fine.

Devs definitely need to fix this.

To clarify, renaming the file "D3DCOMPILER_46.dll" in the main game directory to "D3DCOMPILER_47.dll" made the game stop crashing on launch.

Ok, what about Content Version Error at the main menu? Yes, I've restarted Steam. Issue resolved itself the first time after i rebooted the entire PC (but may not be the exact reason as didnt immediately try to play it again) so do I have to do that every time there's an Update?
Edit: This is about the 3rd time its happened with this game for me.
