Game fails to launch
Description:
Starting the game via steam shows that the game is running for a couple of seconds and then it returns to it's normal state without launching the game.

Explanation:
In most cases the game fails to launch due to the critical error. Unfortunately Steam does not show this error to us. To see it you need to launch the game manually.

Solution:
Go to your game installation folder, locate a file called launcher.exe and run it manually. Depending on the generated error message the solution could be different. See other topics.

If you don't know how to locate you game installation folder, do the following:
1. Locate the game in your installed games list on Steam
2. Right-click it
3. Choose "Properties"
4. Go to "Local Files" tab
5. Click "Browse Local Files..." button

What exact error message do you get?

" The code execution cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"

I'm running into the same problem, though I'm not getting an error message. I played the game perfectly fine in the past on my pos pc, but after a while it stopped launching, I thought it was my pc finally crapping out. Built a new pc a couple months ago and decided to try the game out again, but it still won't launch, could it be workshop things I have installed?

Yes, it could be workshop items. Unfortunately the game could have loading problems when too much mods subscribed at the same time.

That was exactly what it was, thank you for the response, uninstalled the mods and reinstalled the game. It launches perfectly now, looking forward to actually playing it now.

no mods on it and still giving me issues

It's not a mod issue. It's a problem with OpenAL installation. We have this topc https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/530890/discussions/1/4334097152420008914/
Did you try to reinstall OpenAL as described there?

It still won't run and I don't know why but for what ever reason Edith will run and work perfectly. what is wrong with the Launcher itself?

edit: I found out why... for some reason one of the mods I had didn't like to work and crash the game to desktop...
