Been having trouble getting my Xbox Wireless controller on my MacOS to work.

When I first changed the game settings to "Xbox Controller", it didn't work. Unlike with other games, with seamless compatibility.

So next I turned on the Steam settings controller and activated "Steam Input for Xbox Controllers". When I started the game back up, it started working for a while. But when I exited and started the game back up, it stopped working again.

Now I've tried many combinations of starting the game up, for example:
- starting with "Mouse and Keyboard" then changing to "Xbox Controller"and vice versa
- starting through Big Picture Mode (sometimes worked but would start two instances of Pathway)
- and a few other cases that I don't know what were caused by
