Just make sure you're not "barely scrapping by" when confronting him. Like don't go with a rusty pistol , low skill and not enough bullet. if you hit hard, he's down in seconds. besides there's a very powerful item you probably encountered that I won't spoil about that can kill this thing just very easily unless your skill is low as hell.
The blind death is actually trivial on any level with 10 dex because you can kite him and kill it without receiving a single hit. They should buff his AP a little to prevent this.
firstly just take a shot and let him come to you, that way he'll exaust its AP
just bring plenty of water guys,,,cheap and easy to get buuut a pain to carry
True, he hardly gets a bite before dying with 10 ap.
I think I am going to head back and go to the Bunker 317 at this point.

If you have that, then you deal double damage to monsters.
Monsters like him stop giving problems after that.
After killing it, right next to a skeletal corpse there is a green stim with no label on it that gives 1 attribute / characteristic point when used
This is because of the Vintorez rifle he carries which is a monstrously lethal weapon. Mainly 'cos it costs only 4AP per burst and only 2AP to reload, so two bursts per turn if you have 8 or better AP (two bursts plus reload if you have 10AP). It also has a long range for an automatic weapon. It's really nasty. It's silenced on top of that.
I've only seen one of these on sale for a short time at the Krasno gun shop. Maybe a caravan had one once IIRC. It's rare.
But that's why it's a really good idea to go for it if you're building for automatic weapons. The weapon uses fairly rare and expensive ammo but it is a get out of jail free card when you really need it, it'll waste pretty much anything that moves in the game. I cleared the scapyard without a scratch with it for example. You can easily kill two normal bandits or slavers etc per turn with it - at range.
That's why this dude is hard to kill. But well worth a bit of save scumming to try. It's a game changing prize.
