Bunker 317 question
Hi,
If you haven't been to Bunker 317 yet, stop reading, spoilers ahead.

Long story short, a roadblock event I have no control over, only way around the robbery is to cheat and not think about the lost hours. I've suddenly lost confidence in these devs being able to provide me with any further entertainment. How many more events like these are in the rest of the game, and then in this Trudograd that I was looking at?

It's pretty much why I moved on from this game. It's a cheap device for any game developer, and I had had enough of them by that point.
Just not my kind of game.

Hi! Sorry to hear that! But don’t worry, though - your loot isn’t lost. It’s stored in a box at their camp. You just need to get the key from them.

Sure, now that I'm naked I'll totally go sell my charms on the docks for some time to buy me a shiv and take my revenge :).
Still, how often will we encounter these "lol we effed a customer again" design elements after the bunker?

I'm sorry for the inconvenience and understand where you're coming from - it's definitely a frustrating moment. The bunker situation was more of a workaround to balance the game than an ideal solution. I get that it can feel unfair when it happens unexpectedly. We try to keep moments like this to a minimum and focus on creating challenges that feel rewarding, not punishing. I hope you give the game another try and enjoy the rest of the walkthrough!

As someone who stuck with the game even after being stripped of everything twice — once right after the tutorial and again while trying to leave Bunker 317 — I think I understand why the devs did this, even though I don't entirely agree with it. It is a way of helping you look ahead in the game by giving you a chance to handle items that you will encounter later. They can't let you keep them because then you would be too powerful too early in the game, but at least you can glimpse where the game is going and you can start thinking about how the pieces will fit together when you eventually gain ongoing access to them. I like that. Unfortunately, it is jarring and frustrating, so I can also understand why someone would give up on the game after that happens.
BTW, I had to go to a walkthrough to figure out that the way to get around the bandits who shake you down as you try to leave the bunker is to eat a toadstool so that they freak out and leave you alone when they see you tripping. I didn't see any clues in game that would suggest that that would work.

To me it is equivalent to permadeath. We are supposed to loot and gather stuff. They've stripped me once at the beginning, never mind. When this happens a second time, they've just made me waste my time, either by showing me that the time I had spent previously was for naught, or to make me google for a way to game the game then go through the same bunker again. I've literally lost interest in participating in this social experiment any further just to see how many more times they'd erase the hours I had spent before, in the current game and sequel(s).
Having 297 games in my current Steam wishlist plus dozens actual games thanks to the weekly free Epic and Amazon offerings, not to mention MMORPGs, I can afford to choose those who respect my time.
Forgot I was still subscribed to this discussion, fixed now.
