After playing awsw, Did anyone ever feel depressed?
Awsw is a really good game, and I love it.
I recently found out about this game, and it's great luck!
I've been so into this lately.
but because of the shocking story and the death of other dragons I love, I was depressed for days.

After seeing the bad ending of the first Bryce. (This was shocking, too)
On the second loop, I tried to save him.
I didn't see any tips, and I didn't know anything, so I played with considerable thought to save Bryce.
But I sent him first to Reza's hideout and killed him again.

Fortunately, I saved first because I was afraid this would happen.
I looked shockingly at the scene after his death.
Next, I tried to load the previous file.

Then, chillingly, the system caused an error and gave me the advice to be sure of the decision.
And the system made me watch Bryce explode and die in a bomb once again. :(
I didn't want to see it twice.

The system was really cruel and creepy.

I really wanted to save Bryce, but he kept dying.
And I finally saw his good ending, and even his ending was sad.
I still don't know why my character shot Maverick and killed him.
Izumi is already dead!

Because of this scary and sad story, I've been depressed for almost a week, and instead of seeing the ending in person, I saw all the ending in a video.

My mentality was too weak to play this game myself.

But because I still liked these games and dragons.
I was just going to try a little more later, and I just saw poor Maverick's bad past story. I almost cried.

There were so many tragic stories that I could no longer play games...
No matter how much I like Dragon and this game's story.

I admit I'm overindulgent, but I wonder if others have done this.

Perfectly understandable so no need to worry about that. :awswsebastian:

Yes I definitely did feel the same way, but more for Remy's endings instead of Bryce. His story related a lot to mine so it was hard not to get emotional. For me my depression was also due to other factors at the time. I was suffering from pneumonia and later that year i found out that I was bipolar, which explained a lot of my emotions at the time. Playing through awsw I guess was a bit of a trigger for some of my depressive episodes. It also helped me a lot in a way. I saw that someone else had a similar experience as I did, even though it might be a fictional character. :awswremy:

But yeah there are definitely people who feel the same way. And if you need to talk about anything or vent i'm open to talk it anytime. :spyro:

Indeed. It is extraordinarily depressing knowing that they live in what seems like a utopia compared to our reality. Still affects me now and then whenever I think about it. All of the characters' low moments did have a substantial impact, but none as deep and depressing as those from Naomi (a character created by EvilChaosKnight. Can be found in his mods "Savior" and "A Solitary Mind"). Ending "E" of "A Solitary Mind" had the most impact of them all, though. I will refrain from saying what happens, but I can assure you that you will be very depressed after seeing it... (it still affects me to this very day)

I was thinking about posting something similar to this, but you did it for me already. Thanks.

Surely the world where dragons live is like Utopia. But I'm not sure, given that murder is happening every day like our world, and it's a world that's about to be destroyed.

Oh, the character added to the mode. I am interested in the story. But I was depressed now even after watching the ending of a normal Bryce, reading a more depressing story than that and not sure if I could be okay. But I really want to see it because you recommend it.

So I'll look for a YouTube video to read this story.
Thanks for the good information. :D

Such a kind person.

I don't know if I understood well, but I think you're comforting me.
I was a little depressed for a few days, but now I'm fine! Thank you.
Funnily enough, I guess I was thinking very seriously about my relationship with Bryce, because I didn't share enough friendship with people around me.

I think that's why I was so shocked when Bryce died.
But I think I was positively affected because this incident made me interact with others a little bit.

If I have a chance later, I want to see Remy's ending!
But I'll see it later. What if I get depressed again? LOL

Thank you for your sincere reply.
Your emoticon is so cute. hahaha

Yeah Remy's endings are quite depressing so if you aren't in the mood I wouldn't recommend playing through them just yet. And no problem, i'm happy to help out. :awswsebastian:

If you want to check out the mod, make sure to check out EvilChaosKnight's other mods, "Not-So-Tragic Hero", and "Savior". It's recommended to complete those mods in that order before playing "A Solitary Mind" for backstory reasons. Besides, playing "Not-So-Tragic Hero" opens up a new story arc for "Savior", and adds some more dialogue to "A Solitary Mind".

Below is some information on the mods [includes spoilers]

Not So Tragic Hero: allows you to receive a much better good ending with Anna, where you can save her instead of watching her die of cancer

Savior: Like the previous mod, you are able to receive a much better good ending, but this time with Bryce, where you get the option to stay behind, while your clone continues the cycle of going back through the portal to eventually save everyone. If you've played Not-So-Tragic hero beforehand, not only are you able to get a better ending with Bryce, but you're also able to help Anna get out of any legal trouble from previous incidents (or help convict her. the choice is yours). Additionally, going to Anna's 3rd date will open up some dialogue in the alternate story arc

A Solitary Mind: Lastly in a hidden secret ending, playing Not So Tragic Hero beforehand will open up a couple extra lines of text. (also, impressing Naomi on dates 1, 2, and 3 will open up some new dialogue on date 4.)

I think the most depressing endings were Remy's...

But honestly, all endings are depressing in their own way.
In addition, not caring for them at the right time at least once in earlier playthroughs causes them to die before the end.
Only the true ending is somewhat acceptable, but still with bitter moments.

On the other hand, it's not only about how the npcs end up at the end of the game, but also the time spent with them and the fun you had while reading the story. ^^

Oh. There was an order in mode play! I really didn't know this.
I think it'll really help me when I play Mode. I think it'll be fun.
How kind of you.
Especially I like the fact that I can see a better ending of Bryce and Anna.
I hope there will be many happy endings.

One question!
Will there be a sequel to Awsw?

From what I recall, Saunders said he would only work on a sequel after Angels with Broken Hearts is complete (a comic prequel to AWSW), which you can find right here :)

One more thing:Naomi's actual canon design is featured here, but I still honestly prefer the design created by EvilChaosKnight instead

There are a lot of people saying that Remy's ending is depressing. Actually, I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure what's the saddest ending. Ha ha.
Remy looked pathetic when he worked in the library. Poor Remy...

I really enjoyed reading the story! This is the most important point.
The ending was bitter, but I still like these stories.

And I'm curious about the story after the true ending. How did dragons and humans come to live together? Did the reconstruction of the city go well?
This is why I expect a sequel to the game.

Yes, from personal experience, both good and bad endings for Remy are depressing.

What is even more depressing is [Major spoilers ahead. I repeat, this is a major spoiler] if you haven't seen Remy's good ending, you go on his 3rd date, and then reply on the last dialogue choice with "I don't look too much into our meetings". Basically you said you don't actually care about him, and you were only using him for your own amusement. If you go to his house to deliver the PDA's later on in the story, you will find him dead, lifelessly hanging from the ceiling. Just like allowing Bryce to go into the booby trapped farmhouse first, it would be entirely your fault if you reach this point. If you choose that dialogue option after you have seen his good ending, he will not kill himself.

Oh, no...
Remy's killing himself because of me?
That's a really sad story.
I would have been really sad again if I hadn't known beforehand.
I think Remy needs care.
Maybe he loved humans so much that he couldn't stand being abandoned by the main character.

I would have been very sad if the dragon told me so. Isn't that right?
Because I like dragons!
