Sympathy for Damion
Anyone else feel even a little sympathy for Damion, or at least have a subtle dislike for Anna? Maybe I'm the only one, maybe not. Just asking to find out.

Edit: If you're wondering what there is to feel sorry for in regards to Damion, read pages 102-107, and 123-130 of Angels with Broken Hearts to get the full picture. (Page 131 might be out soon, too. Or you get early access to it on M.B. Saunder's patreon for becoming a patron)

I don't feel bad for people who blackmail others for sex technically assaulting them in the process.

I understand your point, but how exactly did Damion blackmail Anna for sex specifically?

From what I see in p. 127, Damion was simply not putting up with Anna's sour attitude. I don't see how it's sex related. Sorry if this offends you, but I genuinely have no idea. As for p. 128, I see Anna say and I quote, "Seriously Damion. You want to blackmail me when this whole thing started with me blackmailing you". Seems a bit hypocritical to complain about blackmail when you dished it out yourself to begin with in p. 103. Also, I believe that Anna had the plan to abuse that legal loophole even before she met Damion (she talked to a lawyer in pages 90-94 over the matter). If any of the scientists she talked to before in pages 95-100 took her in as an assistant, she still would've abused the loophole regardless. No hard feelings, I like to hear others' opinions, as well as my own.

On page 127 Damion asks if Anna wants to get dessert after work. dessert is a euphemism for sex. Damion is using his position to force Anna into this.

the blackmail is more of a reference about Damion being unable to complete his research. He has already extended his grant before and would be unlikely extend it. honestly, Damion should have checked the employment contract that he signed and although it was a pretty horrible move, it is his own fault although Anna gave him the information he needs in order to save himself from failing his project.

I'm not without sympathy for Damion but he doesn't do any favours in the chapter he's in or even in the main game for that matter. I think Damion as a character and the story between Anna and himself could have been better if it had taken a different turn in the chapter we see them in.

Interesting. This is a perfectly valid point. Perhaps I'll reconsider what I said before. Also, I agree. Damion in the storyline of AwSW could've used a little bit more content. He's a bit bland of a character in his current state. At least AwBH gives a bit of backstory.
