Switching to Steam Deck lost all/most of my progress
After playing a whole lot of endings and such on my PC, I had to swap to playing it on Steam Deck. It had my last save (but no characters on the manu) so I finished it getting my good ending with Adine. But then the game started acting like it was my first ending. When I looked at the menu, only Adine. Went back to my PC, only Adine.

So now it's as if I never even ran through the game's content before the save I loaded and just lost everything.

I'm super bummed and I am sure there's nothing to be done.

Just wanted to warn people about it, really!

Sounds like there may have been an issue with the Steam Cloud. Is the progress still there when you play on PC?

You may still be able to restore the progress if it was saved in the Steam Cloud. You can check it here: https://steamhost.cn/account/remotestorage

The file saving all the progress is RenPy/Angels with Scaly Wings/persistent

If this file is different from what you have on your PC or Steam Deck, then you may still be able to use it to restore the progress.

The progress is no longer there on my PC, it erased all of the characters I had on the main menu screen and just now has Adine's good ending, the one I was in the middle of working on when I saved on my PC the last time and then tried to continue on my Steam Deck.

It looks like the saves from that link are the ones that are showing up in the game, from after the issue and then the file I was in the middle of that had a bunch of progress, but loading it just loads the final chapter of Adine's good ending and then when it finishes, it's as if it's the first time I ever finished the game and the first time I got a good ending.

Thanks for checking. My best guess is that when the game was started on the Steam deck, it started a new save instead of using the save from the Steam cloud, and then this new save overwrote your previous progress.

It's so strange because the save had me in the final chapter of Adine's good ending and just sort of started it as if that was the start of a brand new story! It's too bad but I guess I'll just have to re-do it all!
