Just about had enough. Why are mods not downloading.
This is really pissing me off and I truly don't understand why it's happening.

None of the mods nor custom maps I am subscribed too will download. The only thing that happens is the folder is created along with the file name but that file contains zero data.
If I join say ISMC UK London 1 the download flashes up, the files and folder are created but nothing is actually downloaded.

I have tried on multiple re-installs of both Windows 10 and 11 on multiple PC's. The same dam issue.

It's so very bizarre.

If I install the game under Linux the downloads work as they should but that isn't really a solution because the Anti-Cheat BS.

Yes I have tried linking my Steam with modio and with Epic.

You could try to check the token - sometimes the timer gets crapped, then the game assumes you haven't signed it or it is outdated.

  1. Navigate to
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\
  2. Open the
    UserGameSettings.ini
  3. Find a section called "[/script/modkit.modioclient]"
  4. Delete it
  5. Save the file
  6. Restart Insurgency Sandstorm
  7. Click "Mods" in the main menu
  8. Accept the terms

Not sure if it's the issue, but maybe worth a try.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately that failed to fix the issue. So my only current action is to get mods and updates on a Linux install, transfer them to a USB drive and then import them into a Windows 10 install.
If the anti-cheat wasn't a thing I wouldn't even use windows.

Did you open Mods, in the main menu, and accept Mod.Io terms
Silly query - AV Blockage?

Just type, or paste, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\ into File Explorer and hit enter.
